Most marketplaces and storefronts expect a square hero image; 1600×1600 px balances sharpness and load time. Pre-compress to quality 85 JPG under 3MB so platforms recompress less aggressively. Center the product and leave margin on the edges so thumbnail crops stay safe.

Platform notes
- Plain white or light-gray backgrounds are the safest; let the product fill about 70–85% of the frame.
- If a marketplace caps file size lower, reduce the target KB — the engine still maximizes quality within budget.
